Earlier this week, our third-grade students had an exciting and educational day at the Farm Bureau Ag Day, where they had the opportunity to learn about the many ways agriculture impacts our everyday lives!

Students rotated through 13 hands-on learning stations covering topics such as soil, beef cattle, alpacas, sheep, horses, pigs, forestry, animal safety, bees, chickens, wildlife, and agriculture trivia. The experience gave students the chance to see live animals, learn from agricultural experts, and discover things they may not encounter in their everyday lives.

From learning about farm animals and natural resources to exploring the importance of soil, forests, and pollinators, students were able to connect classroom learning to the real world. Tennessee Farm Bureau provides educational agriculture resources specifically designed for elementary students, including third-grade lessons and activities.

Hands-on experiences like Ag Day help students better understand where our food and other everyday products come from while developing an appreciation for the farmers, agricultural workers, and natural resources that make it all possible.

A BIG thank-you to Overton County Farm Bureau and all of the volunteers and presenters who made this special learning experience possible for our students! We are grateful for the time and effort put into giving our third graders such a memorable day of learning. 🌱🐄🐝🐖🐑

Learning about agriculture today helps grow the leaders, consumers, and agricultural professionals of tomorrow! 🌾💛🖤
