Thursday's Senior Signing and Final Walk events were, as always, an emotional experience for all in attendance. Livingston Academy seniors had the opportunity to publicly announce their plans following high school, be that the military, higher education, or the workforce. Each declaration was met with an uproarious applause from a crowd of faculty, family, and friends. This was followed by one last walk through the LA hallways, as seniors got the chance to say goodbye to the building and the people within it. Here's to you, Class of 2025! See you at graduation!

Congratulations to LA student Parks Graff on winning this year's $1000 attendance prize courtesy of First National Bank! During a schoolwide assembly, Parks's name was drawn from a box containing all this year's attendance winners. In addition to Parks's big win was the distribution of various gift cards, totaling to $1000 and donated by the LA Alumni Association, to the rest of this year's quarterly attendance winners. Thank you to everyone who donated to the program throughout the year, including Life Church for the weekly winners' gift cards.

For the upcoming school year (2025-2026), Overton County Schools will complete registration online. This will help speed up the process and reduce the amount of paper and time involved creating the registration materials. We also hope that this is more convenient for families and eliminates the need to list repeated information on registration forms. The registration period lasts until May 30th. Please see the attached image for more information on the process.

The Livingston Academy Senior Seminar classes began their Adulting 101 unit today, with Vice Principal Brandon Cross teaching all things auto. Students observed demonstrations of oil checks, brake inspections, and tire changes– and even got the chance to try it themselves. This multi-week course will feature a new guest speaker at each meeting, including culinary arts and budgeting with the UT Extension office, banking and loans with First National Bank, online scams with the Middle Tennessee Credit Union, taxes with Emma Cannon of James F. Scarlett Accounting, and insurance with Farm Bureau Tennessee. Thank you to teachers Sara Greenwood, Lauren Coffman, Lora Clouse, and Dee Smith for organizing this excellent slate of contributors. We are honored to work with our students in preparation for their life after school and can’t wait to share more in the coming weeks.
