Due to a countywide water emergency and a current boil water mandate, Overton County Schools will be closed on Thursday, February 5 and Friday, February 6.
At this time, portions of Overton County are already without water, and officials have indicated that other areas may lose water as well while crews work to locate and repair leaks in the system. Because schools cannot safely operate without reliable access to potable water for drinking, food preparation, restrooms, and sanitation, this closure is necessary to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.
We understand the inconvenience this may cause for families, especially following recent weather-related closures. Please know this decision was made in close coordination with local officials and out of an abundance of caution.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and communicate updates regarding school operations as more information becomes available.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we prioritize the safety of our school community.

Out of an abundance of caution, Overton County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4th due to continued hazardous road conditions in some areas and a newly issued boil water notice, making water unsafe for consumption.
Student and staff safety remains our top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to monitor conditions and will provide updates as they become available.
Overton County Schools will be 2 hours late with bus driver discretion tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
